This innocuous book stumbled on my attention in 2005 and it’s passed through my hands repeatedly since. I’d no inclination to peruse its contents for I’d ceased to believe in miracles. In 2005, I was cursing God for abandoning me. I was using all my energy to stave off the hell I descended into 15 years earlier by marrying a person as un-Godly as anyone could be.
In 2007, while packing some books as donations for a book fair, my hand yet again fell on “A Course in Miracles “.By this time, I’d secured a divorce from my husband but was still dealing with the fallout. As I grasped the book, I became very thoughtful and calm. What was it about any of it book that invoked feelings I hadn’t experienced in a very number of years? My hand clung to the book refusing to put it down. Realizing that this is an indication that I’d better take a closer look, I made a pot of tea and sat in the best reading chair. With great curiosity, I dedicated to the blue hardcover and read “A Course in Miracles, a base for inner peace.” Wow. Which was a pretty bold statement but okay, I decided to bite. Going for a deep breath, I pondered probably the most obvious question: What IS the inspiration for inner peace? This book instantly opened an old wound and it’d better have the clear answer to healing.
“A Course in Miracles” is actually that, a course. Written in three parts, this book is to not be studied lightly and can not be read in per week or perhaps a month. There’s text, a workbook for students and an information for teachers. I’d the sudden urge to fling the book across the space because I was deeply and profoundly afraid. I instinctively understood that when I began looking over this book, I would definitely have to change and was I ready for the journey ahead?
My favorite movie is “The Matrix “.The main character Neo is searching for the clear answer to the matrix. He understands the matrix exists but he doesn’t know what it is. The man with the clear answer, Morpheus, contacts Neo and offers the chance for truth by giving Neo a choice between taking a blue pill or a red pill. Take the blue pill and remain ignorant or take the red pill and find the clear answer to the matrix free online a course in miracles. Before he reaches for his pill of choice, Morpheus cautions Neo that will he pick the red pill, he can never go back to living he have been living.
“A Course in Miracles” could be the red pill. Do I read it and change everything I learn about the planet and myself or do I take the blue pill and make “A Course in Miracles” book fair fodder?
As I choke down the red pill, I flip to Lesson 1 of 365 in the workbook for students and promptly read, “Nothing I see in this room means anything “.Oh dear. Can it be too late to take the blue pill?
